Do Our Reps Care About Veterans or is it Just For Show?

Legislators around the state recently wished veterans a happy Veteran's Day but it will be telling if they vote against the veteran in the Legislature this week while it reconvenes.

Rep. Priscilla Giddings, Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Reserves, is waiting to hear whether she will be censured from the House Commerce and Human Resources Committee by way of a floor vote.

Giddings, if you remember, was found to have "engaged in conduct unbecoming of a Representative" for sharing a news article in her legislative newsletter.

If you're trying to figure out how sharing a news article can be conduct unbecoming you're not alone. District 1 Rep. Sage Dixon, Chair of the House Ethics Committee, said that because Giddings shared a news article that had a "victim's" name in it, that was conduct unbecoming. There are many editorials written about this topic, so if you weren't around when this was going on, I highly suggest the articles written by True Idaho News, Idaho Freedom Foundation, and Redoubt News below.

Friendly to Veterans?

Only time will tell. I AM looking forward to the vote this week so I can update with who wants Priscilla out. Below are all the reps who mentioned Veterans Day, save a few; I will be updating after the censure vote.
